A new bus route, 614K, will start running from Hakaniemi via Tammisto and Jumbo to Ylästö. In Vantaa, the bus will travel along Tasetie next to Jumbo. Otherwise, it will follow the same route as bus 614. Bus 614K will operate Monday to Friday between 6pm and 10pm, with services every 30 minutes.
The service frequency of bus routes 614 and 617 will decrease from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes on weekday evenings. Additionally, the service frequency of bus route 623 will be reduced from every 30 minutes to every 60 minutes after 7pm on weekday evenings.
Route 614K introduced to meet customers’ wishes
The new route will be trialed until summer 2026. The trial aims to address travel needs—especially for leisure trips—expressed by customers in the 2024 Travel Survey and the customer survey conducted in Ylästö in 2023. The goal is to enhance transport links from Ylästö to both Tammisto and Helsinki city center.
During the trial, we will monitor passenger numbers on the route. Based on these numbers, we may consider permanently rerouting bus 614 to follow the route of bus 614K. If demand is insufficient, we may instead reinstate more frequent service on bus routes 614 and 617. In addition to monitoring the passenger numbers, we will also gather customer feedback towards the end of the trial.
