The autumn school term starts at different times in different municipalities, which affects the timetables of school bus routes within the HSL area. As a whole, HSL’s public transport services will switch to autumn timetables on Monday, 11 August. However, some routes will switch to autumn service earlier. Read more
Changes from 7 August 2025
Helsinki
Bus 16 will no longer serve Korkeasaari directly, as the bridge between Mustikkamaa and Korkeasaari will be closed. Access to Korkeasaari will be via Nihti and the destination of bus 16 will change to Mustikkamaa. Read more
A new bus route 66K will be introduced to serve Vanha Maunula. The bus will operate in the mornings and afternoons. Read more
Espoo
A new bus route U949 will start operating between Klaukkala and Kalajärvi. School bus route 38 (Klaukkala–Kalajärvi) will be transformed into a U-line service for the section that runs through Espoo.
Tuusula
A new bus route, 968, will start operating from Hyrylä via Ruotsinkylä to Vanhakylä. Read more
Siuntio and Kirkkonummi

- There will be some adjustments to bus routes in Siuntio. Bus 912K will be rerouted and route 913BT will be withdrawn. Read more
- New bus routes will be introduced in Kirkkonummi: Bus 174Z will accommodate school journeys in the morning, bus 175K will provide service from Luoma to Matinkylä and bus 901B will operate from Gesterbynkaari to Hirsala in the afternoon. Bus route 901 will be split into new routes: bus 901 will run to Porkkala, bus 905 to Pikkala. Read more

Changes from 11 August 2025
Tram services
- Tram services will switch to autumn timetables and run more frequently. Trams 1 and 8 will resume operating and trams 1T and 8T will only run on weekends starting 11 August. Read more
Train services
- A trains will start operating more frequently, and there will be improvements to Y, P, and K train services. Additionally, one new early morning Z train service will be introduced.
- The service frequency of A trains will be increased on Saturdays: the trains will run every 15 minutes between 830am and 10.30am and every 10 minutes between 10.30am and 6pm.
- Starting 11 August, one additional Y train service will be added in each direction on weekdays after the morning peak. A feeder bus service operates between Siuntio and Kirkkonummi at other times.Read more
Bus services
Helsinki
- The service frequency of some bus routes will increase. Bus 77 will run every 15 minutes at peak times and every 20 minutes on Sundays. Bus routes 561 and 562 will start running every 15 minutes at peak times. The service frequency of bus route 554 will increase to every 15 minutes on Saturdays.
- Bus U848 will be rerouted to run from Pasila to Kamppi. The bus will no longer serve Vallila. Read more
Espoo and Kauniainen
- There will be changes to night bus routes in Espoo. Read more
- Bus route 162 will be diverted in Kauklahti starting 11 August. The bus will run a one-way loop between Kauklahti station, Hansatie, Valhallantie, Klippinkitie and Kauklahden puistotie. Read more
- The service frequency of bus route 554 will increase to every 15 minutes on Saturdays.
Changes to bus routes in northern Espoo
- Bus routes 206, 206K, 225, 227 and 236B will be merged into new routes 227 and 237 from 11 August Read more
- Buses 236 and 239 will be rerouted. Bus 236 will terminate in Vanhakartano and bus 238 will run to Serena. Read more
- There will be changes to the routes and timetables for buses 214, 215 and 548. A new route, 214A will replace late evening and weekend morning services of bus route 214 and 215. Additionally, there will be minor changes to the routes of buses 215 and 548 in Laaksolahti. Read more
- Bus 345K will replace bus 348 from 11 August. Read more
- Bus route 521 will start operating on 11 August. The new route will provide a direct connection between Kalajärvi, Pähkinärinne and Leppävaara. Read more
Vantaa
- A new bus route, 614K, will start between Ylästö and Sörnäinen. Read more
- A new bus route 343 (Myyrmäki–Kaarela) will serve Askisto residents who travel to Myyrmäki to a temporary daycare center while the Askisto daycare center is closed for renovation. Read more
Construction work will continue to affect public transport
Several construction projects will continue to affect service in the autumn. The renovation of the Vuosaari metro bridge is scheduled to last until 28 September. There are no Metro services between Vuosaari and Rastila; instead, trains terminate at Puotila. Replacement buses are in operation.
Additionally, the construction of the Kruunusillat tramway on Siltasaarenkatu will continue until November 2025. The work affects bus and tram routes in Hakaniemi.
