Tram routes 2, 4 and 10 to resume their normal routes along Mannerheimintie from 8 September

Tram routes 2, 4 and 10 will resume their normal routes along Mannerheimintie via Runeberginkatu and Reijolankatu starting Monday, 8 September.

With the completion of the second phase of the renovation of Mannerheimintie, tram routes 2, 4 and 10 will resume their normal routes  between Runeberginkatu and Reijolankatu. The terminus of tram 3 will revert to Kuusitie from Pikku Huopalahti and the "Ooppera" (H0107 and H0108), "Töölön halli" (H0109 and H0110) and "Kansaneläkelaitos" (H0111 and H0112) tram stops will reopen. The stops have been renovated as part of the project.  

The tram routes have been diverted due to the renovation of Mannerheimintie, which will be completed ahead of schedule.

Changes from Monday, 8 September 

Tram 2 will resume its normal route, traveling from Olympia Terminal via Töölö to Messukeskus. The diversion via Alppiharju between Pasila and the Opera will cease, and the tram will once again run from the Opera via Mannerheimintie, Nordenskiöldinkatu to Pasila and Messukeskus.

Tram 3 has been running to Pikku Huopalahti during the renovation. The terminus will revert from Pikku Huopalahti to Kuusitie, and tram route 10 will operate to Pikku Huopalahti. Tram 3 will run from Kuusitie via Alppiharju and Helsinginkatu to Mannerheimintie, continuing along Bulevardi to Olympia Terminal. Tram 3 will fully return to its normal route once the temporary arrangements in Hakaniemi are lifted. More information about the arrangements in Hakaniemi is available below. Tram 3N will not operate starting 8 September.

Tram 4 will resume its normal routes between Katajanokka and Munkkiniemi. The diversion via Alppila between Reijolankata and the Opera will cease. Starting 8 September, tram 4 will run between Meilahti and the Opera along Mannerheimintie.

Tram 10 will resume its normal route between Ullanlinna and Pikku Huopalahti. The diversion between the Opera and St. Paul's Church (Paavalinkirkko) will cease, and the tram will once again run between the Opera and Pikku Huopalahti along Mannerheimintie.

Trams 4 and 10 will run every 10 minutes on weekdays starting 8 September. The service frequency will increase later in the autumn.

The temporary "Reijolankatu" (H0642 and H0643) and "Ruusulankatu" (H0128 and H0129) tram stops will be closed on 8 September. 

Renovation of Mannerheimintie  

The renovation of Mannerheimintie entails replacing the 100-year-old underground utility supplies and street surface structures. Pedestrian and cycle paths will be upgraded and new tram tracks are installed. The renovation will be completed by the end of 2025.

Tram diversions continue in Hakaniemi 

This year, central city tram routes are also affected by the construction of the the Kruunusillat tramway on Siltasaarenkatu. Tram routes 6B, 7B and 9B are operating north of Hakaniemi,  while tram routes 6T, 7T and 9T operate south of Hakaniemi. There are no tram services across the Pitkäsilta Bridge. The changes in Hakaniemi will remain in effect until early November. More information is available in a service update published in the spring.
