The disruptions are due to the renovation of Malminkartano, Kannelmäki and Pohjois-Haaga stations undertaken by Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd. In addition, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency will be carrying out bridge work on the section of the line.
How services will operate
There will be no train services at Malminkartano, Kannelmäki and Pohjois-Haaga stations from 1 June to 9 August 2026. In addition, trains will pass Malminkartano station without stopping from 3 May to 31 May and from 10 August to 6 September.
- There will be no train services between Myyrmäki and Huopalahti from 1 June to 9 August 2026
- I and P trains will not run between Pasila, Huopalahti and Myyrmäki
- I and P trains will only run between Helsinki, Tikkurila, Helsinki Airport and Myyrmäki
- Malminkartano station will be closed, and trains will run through it without stopping from 3 May to 31 May and from 10 August to 6 September 2026
- I and P trains will run between Helsinki, Huopalahti and Myyrmäki every 20 minutes
- I and P trains will run between Helsinki, Tikkurila, Helsinki Airport and Myyrmäki every 10 minutes, with every other I train turning back towards the airport at Myyrmäki
- At Myyrmäki station, there will be changes to departure platforms. Check the station displays for up-to-date platform information
- Trains will use only one track at Malminkartano from 7 September to 4 October
- I and P trains will run between Helsinki, Huopalahti and Myyrmäki every 20 minutes
- I and P trains will run between Helsinki, Tikkurila, Helsinki Airport and Myyrmäki every 10 minutes, with every other I train turning back towards the airport at Myyrmäki
- At Myyrmäki station, there will be changes to departure platforms. Check the station displays for up-to-date platform information

Replacement and alternative bus services during the disruption
Buses will replace the missing train services.
Train replacements buses from 1 June to 9 August, when trains do not run between Myyrmäki and Huopalahti:
- Bus 401X will run from Pasila via Hämeenlinnanväylä to Myyrmäki.
- The terminus of bus 52 will move from Kuninkaantammi to Myyrmäki.
- Buses 37, 40 and 400 will operate more frequently.
Replacement buses from 3 May to 31 May and from 10 August to 6 September, when trains run through Malminkartano station without stopping:
- The terminus of bus 41 will move from Pohjois-Haaga to Malminkartano.
All other bus services will operate as usual during the disruptions to train services.
Alternative transport links from Malminkartano:
- Buses 30 and 37 towards Helsinki city center and Myyrmäki
- Bus 59 towards Pasila
Alternative transport links from Kannelmäki:
- Buses 40 and 42 towards Helsinki city center and bus 400 from Hämeenlinnanväylä
- Bus 401X from Hämeenlinnanväylä to Pasila
Alternative transport links from Pohjois-Haaga:
- Buses 40 and 41 towards Helsinki city center and bus 400 from Hämeenlinnanväylä
- Bus 401X from Hämeenlinnanväylä to Pasila
Alternative transport links from Myyrmäki when there are no train services towards Helsinki:
- Buses 30, 37, 300 and 400 towards Helsinki city center
- Replacement bus 401X to Pasila
The journey times of buses can be significantly longer than those of trains. Please allow extra time for your journeys. In addition, journeys to destinations such as Pasila may require transfers, depending on where your journey begins. Bicycles are not allowed on buses because there is no room for them to be carried safely.

Station renovation work during the service disruptions
During the service disruptions, Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd will renovate Pohjois-Haaga, Kannelmäki and Malminkartano stations. The work will target the stations’ surface structures, load‑bearing structures, as well as the electrified tracks, which is why train services must be suspended. Additionally, the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency will repair the railway bridge at Pohjois-Haaga station and carry out other smaller-scale maintenance work in the area affected by the service disruption.
Other changes to commuter train services in the summer
There will also be other changes to commuter train services in the capital region in summer 2026. Construction of the Espoo Rail Line will continue. The work is carried out by the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency. Track work between Huopalahti and Ilmala will affect train services at Valimo, Pitäjänmäki and Mäkkylä stations. In addition, renovations of Puistola and Tapanila stations will affect main line services.

Other train service changes in summer 2026
- 1 June–9 August: A trains will not operate. Valimo, Pitäjänmäki and Mäkkylä stations will be closed.
- 1 June–9 August: I, P and K trains will operate a reduced service. I trains towards Helsinki Airport will not stop at Pukinmäki, Malmi, Tapanila and Puistola stations.
- 22 June–26 July: Trains will not run west of Leppävaara due to the construction of the Espoo Rail Line. There will be no train services between Leppävaara and Siuntio.
