The fire alarm system, smoke ventilation hatches and lighting at Keilaniemi Metro Station will undergo maintenance between April and October 2026. During the maintenance work, scaffolding will be installed in the escalator shafts.
Due to the works, some escalators will be out of service, which may cause inconvenience when navigating the station. The maintenance work will begin on 20 April with the short escalator group at the north entrance of the station and will be completed in October with the long escalator group at the south entrance.
The lifts at the station will operate as normal throughout the maintenance period. Escalators that are not undergoing maintenance will remain available to passengers. Any temporary changes to walking routes will be clearly signposted at the station. The maintenance work will not affect Metro services.
Escalators from entrance B (north entrance) to the platform out of service from 25 May to 27 July
- The escalators from the northern entrance of Keilaniemi Metro Station to the platform will be out of service from 25 May to 27 July.
- Access to the platform level from the direction of Keilaranta and the stops for light rail 15 is only by lift.
- The escalators and lifts at the southern entrance are operating as usual.

Estimated schedules for escalator closures
The schedules for individual escalator closures will be specified in more detail as the maintenance work progresses. Passengers will be informed in advance of each escalator closure. During set‑up and changes to the work area, both escalators at one end of the station may be temporarily out of service.
Current estimate:
- At entrance B, the escalators from the platform level to the intermediate level, as well as the long escalators to entrances B and G, will be closed from May to July. The closure will start in week 22.
- The short escalators between entrance A (the south entrance) and the intermediate level will be out of service from July to August.
- At entrance A, the escalators from the platform level to the intermediate level, as well as to entrances A and F, will be out of service from August to October.
Regular maintenance ensures the safe and reliable operation of the Metro station. The maintenance work is carried out by Länsimetro Oy.
