The HSL–Uber pilot in Itä-Pakila allows you to complete part of your public transport journey by Uber. You can take an Uber from Itä-Pakila to the nearest train stations or trunk route stops, making it easier to access public transport.
An Uber ride costs €3.30. The service is available around the clock, subject to driver availability.
How to use the service
To include Uber in your route suggestions, use the Journey Planner at hsl.fi (reittiopas.hsl.fi).
Go to hsl.fi and search for your desired route in the Journey Planner. Then go to the settings, scroll to the bottom and select Demand-responsive transport. The Journey Planner will then include Uber as an option for part of your journey. By clicking the link in the route suggestion, you can get a one-time Uber code (“voucher”), which you can use in the Uber app to get your Uber ride at a lower price.
As a rule, you will pay €3.30 for your Uber ride. You can use the voucher for rides with UberX and UberGreen. The aim is to make it easier to access public transport.
Your journey must begin or end in Itä-Pakila. The nearest train stations are Pukinmäki and Oulunkylä. The nearest stops are the "Teininpuisto" light rail stop and the "Yhdyskunnantie" trunk bus stops. The browser version of the Journey Planner only suggests Uber as an option for journeys that meet the pilot criteria. Uber rides are available around the clock, subject to driver availability.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an Uber account and use their services. Passengers under 18 can only travel with Uber when accompanied by an adult. To travel on HSL public transport, you will also need a valid HSL ticket.
