A pilot in Ylästö allows you to complete part of your public transport journey using Uber. The aim is to improve access to public transport at times when services are limited. You can use Uber to travel from Ylästö to the nearest train stations and trunk bus route stops.
How to use the service
To include Uber in your route suggestions, use the Journey Planner in your browser.
Open the Journey Planner in your browser and search for the desired route. Then, go to the settings and select Taxi and ride-hailing services under Transport modes. The Journey Planner will then include Uber in the route suggestions. By clicking the link in the route suggestion, you can get a one-time Uber code (“voucher”), which you can use in the Uber app to get your Uber ride at a lower price.
As a rule, you will pay €5 for your ride. Please note that if the actual price of the ride exceeds the €25 price cap, you will pay the amount exceeding the cap in addition to €5. For example, if the actual price of the ride is €27, you will pay €7. You can use the voucher for rides with UberX and UberGreen.
Your journey must either begin or end in Ylästö. The nearest train stations are Vantaankoski, Martinlaakso and Aviapolis, and the nearest trunk bus route stop is "Hagelstamintie". Uber is available in Ylästö on weekdays from 10am to 2pm and on weekends from 6am to 1am. When using the Journey Planner in your browser, you will only get route suggestions for journeys that meet the pilot criteria. Uber-ride-option is dependant on the availability of the drivers.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an Uber account and use their services. Passengers under 18 can only travel with Uber when accompanied by an adult. To travel on HSL public transport, you will also need a valid HSL ticket.
