Track work related to the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Espoo Rail Line project will cause disruptions to westbound train services from Leppävaara on the Coastal Line in spring, summer and autumn this year. In autumn, services will be disrupted on five weekends in September and October. Two-day disruptions from Saturday morning to Monday morning will take place on 5–7 September, 19–21 September and 3–5 October. One-day disruptions will take place on Sundays 13 September and 27 September. Train services on the Coastal Line were disrupted for five weeks starting on 23 June. In spring, disruptions lasting about a day occurred mainly on weekends in May.
Westbound train services from Leppävaara will be replaced by buses during the disruptions. Buses 211U and 249Y will replace U, L and Y trains between Leppävaara and Kirkkonummi. Bus 211U will only run in the early morning and late evening. Bus 249Y will run from Leppävaara along Turunväylä to Espoon keskus and then continue to Kirkkonummi. The replacement buses have open fare collection. Bicycles are not allowed on replacement buses because there is no space to carry them safely.

- 211U Leppävaara–Kauniainen–Espoo–Kauklahti–Kirkkonummi
- 213X Elielinaukio–Turunväylä–Espoo
- 248X Leppävaara–Turunväylä–Espoo–Kauklahti
- 249Y Leppävaara–Turunväylä–Espoo–Kehä III–Kirkkonummi
The replacement buses will depart from bay 15 in Leppävaara and from bay 20 in Kirkkonummi. The timetables and routes for the buses are available in the Journey Planner.
During the disruptions, you can also use buses 171, 173 and 173Z to travel from Kirkkonummi to Matinkylä Metro Station. Buses 182A and 182K will run between Kirkkonummi and Siuntio. The timetables for the buses and other route alternatives are available in the Journey Planner.
The Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency’s Espoo Rail Line Project involves constructing two new tracks between Leppävaara and Kauklahti. Once completed, the rail link will improve the punctuality of commuter train services in Kirkkonummi and Espoo as well as the punctuality of long-distance train services in the direction of Turku. In addition, improvements are being made to Kilo, Kera, Kaunainen, Koivuhovi, Tuomarila and Kauklahti stations. The project started in spring 2021 and is scheduled to be completed in 2029.
