The runners will begin gathering in front of the Helsinki Cathedral already at approximately 6pm, at which point Snellmaninkatu will be closed to traffic. The runners in the 10-kilometer race will start at the Helsinki Cathedral at 9pm, while those in the 5-kilometer race will start at 10.15pm.
The diversion routes
Trams 2 and 3
During the event, trams 2 and 3 will not serve the section between Ylioppilastalo–Olympiaterminal–Eiran sairaala. The trams will have two different diversion routes from 8.45pm to 10.45pm:
1) Tram 2 will run from Messukeskus to the “Telakkakatu” (H0446) stop on Pursimiehenkatu in Eira via Mannerheimintie, Bulevardi, Fredrikinkatu, Laivurinkatu and Tehtaankatu. From Pursimiehenkatu, the tram will head back towards Kuusitie as tram 3 along the same route.
2) Tram 3 will run from Kuusitie to the “Eiranranta” (H0826) stop, the terminus of tram 6, via Bulevardi, Hietalahdenranta and Telakkakatu. From Eiranranta, the tram will head back towards Messukeskus as tram 2 along the same route.
Tram 4
The tram will not serve the “Vyökatu”, “Ulkoministeriö” and “Merisotilaantori” stops during the event. The tram will run to the Katajanokka Terminal under route number 4T between 8.45pm and 11pm.
Tram 7
The tram will not serve the “Snellmaninkatu”, “Kansallisarkisto”, “Hallituskatu”, “Senaatintori”, “Aleksanterinkatu” and “Mikonkatu” stops. From 6pm until the end of service, the tram will run directly via Kaisaniemenkatu without serving Kruunuhaka.
Tram 13
Service delays are possible when the runners cross Konttisatamankatu in Nihti at two points.
Bus 55
The bus will not run via Liisankatu or serve the stops “Snellmaninkatu”, “Meritullinkatu”, “Liisanpuistikko”, “Pohjoisranta 25” and “Näkinsilta”. The bus will run via Unioninkatu, Siltasaarenkatu, Hämeentie and Haapaniemenkatu in both directions from 9pm to 11.30pm. This applies to departures from the Railway Square between 8.59pm and 11.23pm and from Koskela between 8.38pm and 10.54pm.
Buses 614K, 623 and 643K
The “Hakaniemi” (bay 21) terminus for routes 614K, 623 and 643K is closed from 9pm to 11.30pm. Instead, the buses will use the “Hakaniemi” (H2520) (bay 24) departure stop on Hakaniemen torikatu as their terminus.
