Customer satisfaction

Customer satisfaction has remained high despite increases in fares and service changes and disruptions caused by various renovation, repair and maintenance works. In 2025, 80.5% of passengers gave HSL public transport services a rating of 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 5. (2024: 84.1%)

Juhani's eventful commute captivated audiences on screen

Our brand promise, Anything is possible, also gives us the opportunity to try new approaches in traditional advertising. At the heart of HSL's marketing are authentic customer stories and the courage to innovate.

MATKA is a five-part miniseries produced by HSL that follows Juhani, the CEO of a brokerage house, on an eventful commute by public transport that circumstances force him to make. Written and directed by Tiina Lymi, the series stars Carl-Kristian Rundman in the title role. Each episode is approximately five minutes long.

The series was aimed particularly at busy motorists in the Helsinki metropolitan area. By the end of the year, the series, which was released in October, had been viewed more than seven million times.

Ticket sales moved into a new background system

We completed an extensive overhaul of ticket purchasing and use and upgraded our backend systems. We introduced contactless payment and replaced approximately 3,800 card readers at stations and on board vehicles. In the autumn, we launched a new online ticket store where customers can top up their HSL cards.
