Kruunusillat – new tramway to Laajasalo

Tram 12 will provide a new direct connection between Helsinki city center and Laajasalo. Initially, the tram will run to Railway Square instead of Hakaniemi due to the Metro service disruption in 2027. Its terminus will move to Hakaniemi once the renovation of Kaivokatu and Kaisaniemenkatu begins after work on the Junatie Metro bridge has been completed.

Services will run less frequently in the early morning and late evening. Detailed timetables will be available in the Journey Planner approximately one month before services begin.

Bus routes 85 and 85N will remain unchanged. In the morning peak, bus 85K will run from Jollas via Reiherintie to Yliskylä center, but will no longer serve parts of its current route in Yliskylä. Bus 85K will also provide convenient connections to tram 12 on Koirasaarentie.

85 Herttoniemi – Jollas

• Weekdays 5am-midnight. Every 15 minutes in the morning peak and during the daytime, every 10 minutes in the afternoon peak, and every 20 minutes in the evening.
• Weekends 9am-midnight, every 20 minutes.

85K Herttoniemi – Reiherintie – Jollas

• Weekdays 5am–10am, every 15 minutes
• Weekends 5am–10am, every 30 minutes.

85N Rautatientori – Herttoniemenranta – Reiherintie – Jollas

• Weekdays and Sundays midnight–2.30am, approximately every 45 minutes
• Fridays and Saturdays midnight–4.30am, approximately every 45 minutes.

86 Herttoniemi – Reiherintie – Santahamina

• Weedkays 5am–1.30am, every 15 minutes in the morning peak and during the daytime, every 10 minutes in the afternoon peak and every 20 minutes in the evening. In late evenings every 45 minutes.
• Weekends 6am–1.30am, every 20 minutes, in late evenings every 45 minutes.

Bus 87 will be rerouted via Yliskylä, Laajasalontie and Gunillantie, enabling convenient connections to both tram routes serving Laajasalo. It will also provide local connections within Laajasalo.

Night bus 87N will run via Yliskylä, Laajasalontie and Gunillantie to Kruunuvuorenranta. The route change will introduce a night bus service to Gunillankallio.

87 Herttoniemi – Yliskylä – Gunillankallio – Kruunuvuorenranta

• Weekdays 4.30am–10am and 2pm–midnight, every 15 minutes in the morning and afternoon peak, every 20 minutes in the evening.
• Weekends 4.30am–8.30am and 10pm–0.30am, approximately every 30 minutes.

87N Rautatientori – Yliskylä – Gunillankallio – Kruunuvuorenranta

• Weekdays and Sundays 11.30pm–2.30am
• Fridays and Saturdays 11.30pm–5am, approximately every 45 minutes

Bus 88 will be rerouted via Yliskylä, Laajasalontie and Gunillantie, enabling convenient connections to both tram routes serving Laajasalo. In addition, it will provide local connections within Laajasalo, as well as connections, for example, between Yliskylä and Herttoniemi.

88 Herttoniemi – Yliskylä – Gunillankallio – Kruunuvuorenranta – Kaitalahti

• Weekdays 5am–11.30pm. Every 15 minutes in the morning peak, during the daytime and in the evening peak, every 20 minutes in the evening. 
• Weekends 6am–11.30pm, every 20 minutes.

Bus 89 will be replaced by buses 87 and 88, which will run via Ilomäentie, Marunakuja and Yliskylänkaari. This will improve connections from Yliskylä to other parts of Laajasalo. Bus route 89 will be withdrawn from 7 January 2027.
