The various street and track works carried out around Helsinki this summer will mainly be completed by 15 August and most trams will resume their normal routes. However, the diversion routes of trams 1, 2 and 8 will be in place for two weeks longer than originally planned and the trams will run straight along Mannerheimintie until 28 August.
This is due to delays in the manufacturing of track components and delays in the different stages of track works related to the improvement works on Caloniuksenkatu and Runeberginkatu.
Tram diversions 15 August to 28 August 2022
- Tram 1 will run from the Opera to Lasipalatsi along Mannerheimintie
- Tram 2 will run from Pasila to Lasipalatsi along Mannerheimintie. In addition, the tram will be rerouted in Länsi-Pasila to run straight along Pasilankatu. Tram service to the “Pasilanraitio” tram stops will resume during autumn 2022 when tram route 7 is extended to Länsi-Pasila.
- Tram 8 will run between the Opera and Arabia as usual along Helsinginkatu. Replacement bus 8X will continue to run between Kaupunginpuutarha and Jätkäsaari until 28 August, when trams 1, 2 and 8 will again run via Töölö.
Tram 5 to Katajanokka Terminal is currently not running due to the diversion routes and shortage of drivers. In addition, with the exception of trams 4 and 10, all tram routes are operating a reduced service. For up to date routes and timetables, see the Journey Planner.
In addition, tram 10 will only run between Kuusitie and Kirurgi from 15 August. Replacement bus 10X will run from Kuusitie to Pikku Huopalahti and tram 3 will run to the Töölö depot. Read more in our service update.
