Street work on Siltasaarenkatu – what was done
The construction work related to the Kruunusillat tramway on Siltasaarenkatu has affected bus and tram routes in Hakaniemi since March 2025. As part of the project, water and sewer systems and other old utility infrastructure were replaced on Siltasaarenkatu. Additionally, the tram tracks on Siltasaarenkatu between Hakaniementori Market Square and the Pitkäsilta Bridge were replaced, and new switches were installed at the intersection of Siltasaarenkatu and Hakaniemenranta. The new switches will enable the new light rail link to Laajasalo.
