Train services on the Main Line and Ring Rail Line to largely return to normal – see service changes

Train services on the Main Line and Ring Rail Line will largely return to normal on 10 August. The Main Line is the railway line running from Helsinki towards Kerava, and the Ring Rail Line is the line running to Helsinki Airport.

Train services will resume between Huopalahti and Myyrmäki at 4am on 10 August. In addition, Pohjois-Haaga and Kannelmäki stations will reopen and I, P and D trains will largely return to normal. There will be changes to K, R and T train timetables.

A trains between Helsinki and Leppävaara will also resume service on 10 August. Read more about service changes on the Coastal Line here.

I, K and P trains from 10 August

  • I trains will stop at all stations between Malmi and Tikkurila.
  • I and P train services between Helsinki, Tikkurila, Helsinki Airport and Myyrmäki will largely return to normal. 
  • I and P trains will not stop at Malminkartano station until 4am on 7 September due to the renovation of Malminkartano station.
  • K trains will resume their normal timetables. This means that they will run every 10 minutes except for late evenings, nights and weekends when they will run every 15–30 minutes.
  • Between Helsinki and Myyrmäki, some tracks will remain closed and every other I and P train will be cancelled at busy times until 4 October. Services will be cancelled Monday to Friday approximately between 6am and 11.30pm, on Saturdays approximately between 7.30am and 11.30pm and on Sundays approximately between 8.30am and 11.30pm. Every other I train will become a P train at Myyrmäki.
  • The 4.36am I train from Helsinki on weekdays will depart five minutes earlier at 4.31am.
  • The daily 9.26pm I train from Helsinki will be cancelled until 6 September.

 D, T, R and Z trains from 10 August

  • Outside peak times, R trains will again run every 30 minutes. Additional R train services at peak times will resume, and D trains will resume service.
  • There will be minor changes to the timetables for T trains from Kerava to Riihimäki. These changes will also affect the timetables of some Z train services.
  • D trains will resume service. A new platform 1 will open at Ainola station. R and T trains towards Helsinki will stop at this platform.
