Airport survey

The most recent airport survey was conducted in 2023. We studied where passengers arrive from and which modes of transport they use when traveling to Helsinki Airport, as well as where they go and which modes of transport they use after arriving from a flight.

Data was collected through face-to-face interviews at Helsinki airport.

Data collection was carried out by interviewing departing passengers at departure gates and arriving passengers in the baggage reclaim area of the terminal.

The data is used in transport system planning and in updating the Helsinki region traffic forecast model.

The previous survey was conducted in 2016.
