Excellent rating for HSL public transport

According to our customer satisfaction survey carried out in autumn 2025, 79 percent of all passengers were either fairly or very satisfied with HSL public transport, giving the services a rating of 4 or 5 on a scale from 1 to 5. In spring 2025, the share of satisfied passengers was 82 percent.

On light rail and Metro services, 81 percent of passengers were satisfied, compared to 79 percent on tram and bus services. On commuter train services, the share of satisfied passengers was 78 percent. Passenger satisfaction decreased across all modes of transport.

A total of 84 percent of Metro passengers were satisfied with the punctuality of services. The share of satisfied passengers was 81 percent on light rail, commuter train and tram services, compared to 71 percent on bus services.

The highest grade was given to the A train (Helsinki–Leppävaara), tram line 13 (Maistraatintori–Nihti) and bus route 843 (Kalkkiranta–Mellunmäki).

81 percent of passengers felt that ticket inspectors are polite and professional. 43 percent felt that HSL listens to them and pays attention to their needs, and 83 percent thought that buying tickets is easy. Furthermore, 77 percent were satisfied with the cleanliness of public transport vehicles.

We measure passenger satisfaction with public transport services in the HSL area on bus, tram, Metro and commuter train services through an annual survey. Approximately 19,000 passengers took part in the survey in autumn 2025.
