Diversion route of tram 2, Olympia Terminal– Opera–St. Paul's Church, 7 June–11 July
Tram 2 will be diverted from Monday 2 June. The tram will not run between the Opera and Pasila station until 11 July. The tram will run from the Opera via Helsinginkatu and Sturenkatu to St. Paul’s Church (Paavalinkirkko). Replacement bus 2X will run from Lasipalatsi via Opera to Pasila.
Tram 2 will not serve the following stops:
“Ooppera” (H0107) on Mannerheimintie, “Töölön halli” (H0109 and H0110), “Kansaneläkelaitos” (H0641 and H0112), “Auroran sairaala” (Aurora Hospital, H0640 and H0639), “Eläintarha” (H0601 and H0602), “Palkkatilanportti” (H0603 and H0604), “Maistraatintori” (H0605 and H0606), “Kyllikinportti” (H0607 and H0608), “Esterinportti” (H0609 and H0610), “Pasilan asema” (Pasila station, H0665 and H0664), “Asemapäällikönkatu” (H0619), “Kellosilta” (H0616) and “ Messukeskus” (H0614).
Tram 2 will serve the following stops along the diversion route:
“Ooppera” (H0241 and H0242) on Helsinginkatu, “Kaupunginpuutarha” (H0243 and H0244), “Linnanmäki” (south) (H0245 and H0246), “Urheilutalo” (H0247 and H0248) on Helsinginkatu, “Porvoonkatu” (H0261 and H0262), “Roineentie” (H0263 and H0264) and “Paavalinkirkko” (, St. Paul’s Church, H0329).

Replacement bus 2X, Lasipalatsi–Opera–Pasila
Replacement bus 2X will run from Lasipalatsi via Mannerheimintie, Nordenskiöldinkatu, Länsi-Pasila and Pasila station to Itä-Pasila.
The best place to get on bus 2X in the city center is the “Lasipalatsi” stop on Mannerheimintie in front of Sokos department store (bay 53, H1903). From there, the bus will run along Mannerheimintie to Nordenskiöldinkatu, from where it will continue via Länsi-Pasila to Pasila station. In the direction of Pasila, another good interchange is at the Opera (H1999).
In Länsi-Pasila, the bus will not be able to run to Kyllikinportti due to construction. Instead, the buses will run a one-way loop from Maistraatinportti via Pasilanraitio to Palkkatilanportti both in the direction of Pasila station and the city center.
The temporary Maistraatinportti bus stop (H0606) is about 150 meters south from the tram stops.
At Pasila station, the bus will arrive at stop H2100 on Pasilansilta (bay 31), from where it will continue to the “Ratamestarinkatu” stop (H2166) on Asemapäällikönkatu.
In the other direction, the bus will depart from the “Ratamestarinkatu” stop (H2166) on Asemapäällikönkatu and stop at the “Junailijankuja” stop (H2165). At Pasila station, the bus will stop at the bus stop on Pasilansilta (bay 36, H2101) in front of the station.

Background
The arrangements are due to the construction of the Ilmala tramway. Tram route 9 is set to be extended from Pasila station to Ilmala in autumn 2022.
Summer timetables to commence on 7 June
The timetables for all tram services will change on 7 June with the switch to summer service. The new timetables are available in the Journey Planner as well as in the printable timetables.
Other changes to tram services over the summer
Several major construction projects will affect tram services in summer 2021. Tram routes 1, 3, 8 and 9 have been diverted from 17 May due to street works on Helsinginkatu. Link to a release published in February explaining the changes. More detailed information is provided about two weeks before the changes take effect.
