There will be several changes to tram services from 31 August. The routes of trams 1, 2, 5, 8, 10 and 13 will change and minor adjustments will be made to the timetables of all trams.
The construction of the West Helsinki light rail will impact traffic in Töölö – tram 5 starts running to Jätkäsaari
- Trams 1 and 2 will run between Ylioppilastalo and Ooppera on Mannerheimintie instead of Runeberginkatu. In addition, tram 2 will no longer run via the Central Railway Station and Mikonkatu, but via Aleksanterinkatu.
- To ensure smooth service on Mannerheimintie, trams 4 and 10 will run every 10 minutes instead of every 7–8 minutes.
- Tram 5 will begin operating on a longer route, running from the Katajanokka terminal via Helsinki city center, Kamppi and Ruoholahti to the “Tahitinkatu” terminus in Jätkäsaari. The tram will run every 10 minutes daily. On weekends, tram 5T will run to the West Harbor instead of Tahitinkatu.
- Tram 8 will begin operating on a shorter route, running only between Arabia and Ooppera. The tram terminates on Ruusulankatu, west of the Ooppera junction.
Trams will resume serving Mäkelänkatu and Käpylä
- Tram 1 will begin running via Mäkelänkatu to Käpylä. In Helsinki city center, the tram will resume service to the “Telakkakatu” terminus in Eira. Tram 1T to the West Harbor will operate only on weekends.
- Tram 7 will resume service via Mäkelänkatu. The tram will no longer run via Helsinginkatu and Aleksis Kiven katu.
