Buy an ABC ticket using contactless payment, the HSL app or a ticket machine

An adult ABC ticket costs €4.80 when paying with contactless payment. The ticket is valid for 90 minutes. If you need a ticket for a longer duration, buy a day ticket for the required zones and validity. You can use the same ticket on all HSL modes of transport.

 

 

Buy a ticket with contactless payment

You can easily buy a single ticket from the airport to the city center using contactless payment at a card reader. Simply select the zones (ABC) and tap your debit or credit card (Visa or Mastercard) to the reader. You can also pay with a mobile phone or a smart watch with contactless payment enabled. The ticket is stored on your card.

Buy a ticket at a ticket machine

You can also buy your train ticket at a ticket machine. There are ticket machines at the airport station, which is located under the terminal.

How do I get from the airport to Helsinki city center?

    • I and P trains run between Helsinki city center and Helsinki Airport. Bus 600 also runs from the airport to the city center.
    • The I train journey time is about 27 minutes (Helsinki–Tikkurila–Airport–Myyrmäki–Helsinki).
    • The P train takes about 32 minutes (Helsinki–Myyrmäki–Airport–Tikkurila–Helsinki).

Where is the Airport train station located?

  • The train station is directly under the airport terminal. It is accessible via a lift or escalator from both the arrival and departure halls.

Airport train service changes in summer 2026

Maintenance work carried out in spring and summer 2026 will affect I and P train services.

  • From 3 May 2026, every other I train will turn back at Myyrmäki towards the airport. Services will run less frequently between Myyrmäki, Huopalahti and Helsinki, and trains will not stop at Malminkartano station.
  • From 1 June 2026, I and P trains will operate a reduced service, and trains will turn back at Myyrmäki towards the airport. There will be no train services between Pasila, Huopalahti and Myyrmäki.

Which ticket do I need?

The HSL area is divided into four zones, labeled A, B, C and D, which extend outwards from the center of Helsinki.

Helsinki Airport is located in zone C and Helsinki Central Railway Station in zone A. You need an ABC ticket to travel between the airport and the city center.

Before buying a ticket, check which zones you will travel through and make sure your ticket is valid for all required zones.
