Tram route 9 to be extended to Ilmala and route 7 to Länsi-Pasila from 17 October, changes to tram stops also at Pasila station

Tram route 9 will be extended from Pasila to Ilmala from Monday 17 October. The tram will run via Pasilankatu and Radiokatu to Ilmalantori, next to Ilmala station. At the same time, tram route 7 will be extended from to Pasila station to Länsi-Pasila. The tram will run along Pasilanraitio and Pasilankatu.

Tram route 9 will be extended from Pasila to Ilmala from Monday 17 October. The tram will run via Pasilankatu and Radiokatu to Ilmalantori, next to Ilmala station. The following new stops will be opened: “Esterinportti”, “Eevanmäki”, “Uutiskatu” and “Ilmalantori”.

The tram will not initially serve its terminus, “Ilmalantori” (H0623). The terminus will later be opened as a regular stop. The tram will depart from stop “Ilmalantori” (H0622) on the opposite side that will be in use from 17 October.

At the same time, tram route 7 will be extended from to Pasila station to Länsi-Pasila. The tram will run along Pasilanraitio and Pasilankatu.

The new terminus will be at Maistraatintori. However, between 17 and 30 October, the terminus will be the previous stop "Kyllikinportti” (H0608). The “Maistraatintori” (H0606) stop will not be in use before October 31 due to construction work near the stop.

In addition, changes will be made to the stops at Pasila station. Trams 7 and 9 will run across the Pasilansilta bridge and serve the stops on the bridge at Pasila station. The trams will serve the stop on the same side as the station (bay 34) when running in the direction of Ilmala and Länsi-Pasila. When running in the direction of West Terminal, the trams will serve the stop on the opposite side (bay 32). The tram stops on Ratapihantie (bays 41 and 43) will no longer be served. The new terminus for tram 2 will be bay 43 at Pasila station.
