All tickets via the HSL app

Regardless of your travel needs, all tickets are available via the HSL app. You can download the app from your app store for free. The app also includes the Journey Planner which guides you conveniently to your destination.

Choosing your ticket

Single and day tickets are the best option for single journeys, day outings and several journeys over a few days. Adult single tickets are also available with contactless payment. If you travel often, get a multi-journey ticket. For regular journeys, we recommend a season ticket. You can buy all tickets conveniently via the HSL app.

Hop on

Buy your ticket in advance using the HSL app. Tickets are not sold on board. When boarding a blue bus, show the HSL app ticket display to the driver. On commuter trains, the metro, ferries, trams and the orange trunk route buses you only need to show your ticket if a ticket inspector or conductor asks you to do so

During your journey

The HSL app helps you every step of the way. When you enable location services, the HSL app Journey Planner shows you your current location and the stop at which to get off. There are also on-board displays and announcements that help you during the journey.

Explore the archipelago

Spend a day on Suomenlinna Island or go for an excursion to Korkeasaari. The islands off Helsinki and Espoo are fantastic places to visit. The islands can be easily reached by ferries. Use the HSL app to find routes for your island adventure. HSL’s tickets are valid on the ferries to Suomenlinna and Kruuruvuorenranta. For other ferries, you need to buy a ticket from the ferry operator.

City bikes provide a convenient and low-cost way to get around. Helsinki and Espoo have a joint city bike system and Vantaa has its own system. You can use city bikes for (for example) EUR 5/day.
